September and October 2024
Dear Brethren,
Grace and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Here is a quick update about my work for the months of September and October 2024.
BRING YOUR FRIENDS DAY:
We had Bring Your Friends Day on 6th October at Dusseldorf Church of Christ. We had eight visitors who worshiped with the Church of Christ for the first time. Four out of these visitors have since continued to worship with the Church.
MARRIAGE CONFERENCE:
Our 3rd Annual virtual Marriage Conference was held on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2024. The theme was Marriage, Divorce, and Re-marriage. The speakers were Brothers Harrison O. Debrah from Asafo Church of Christ, Kumasi, and Bernard Asante from Vertical Centre Church of Christ, Tema. I was the host. As is always the case, many brethren joined on Zoom from across Europe, Ghana, Canada, and the USA.
BAPTISMS:
The Lord had been gracious to the Dusseldorf Church of Christ by adding four souls to the Church. In 2022, While in Italy, I had the telephone number of Sister Sylvia from a lady in the USA. Sister Sylvia was a member of the Lord’s Church in Accra, Ghana. She had been in Germany for almost 30 years, but when I spoke with her and connected her to the Church, she and her husband have since been worshipping with Dusseldorf Church of Christ. Through Bible studies, Sister Sylvia’s husband (Mr. Emmanuel Asare) and his two sons (David Asare and Micheal Asare) were all baptized at their residence on 13th September in their bathtub.
On the 28th of September, Esther who got married to Brother Nat on 27th January also got baptized at their residence in their bathtub after many sessions of Bible studies with her on Zoom. Though Esther is expecting a baby in November, she was very happy to get baptized irrespective of her condition.
Before we left Italy, in 2022, the twin brothers Isaiah and Isaac whose elder brother (Joshua) I baptized in Naples in the summer of 2017 invited me through their father to go down to Naples to study the Bible with them. So we traveled from Vicenza to Naples and spent two weeks and studied the Bible with them many times. However, they told me that they still needed time to decide what to do. In August this year, they told their father (Brother Joseph Boateng) to tell me that they were ready to be baptized, so I should go to Naples and baptize them. Somehow, Brother Joseph said he didn’t remember whether he had informed them that I now live in Germany or not. Tickets at that time were also very expensive so I couldn’t make that trip. I finally was able to convince their father (Brother Joseph) to baptize Isaac on the 6th of October and Isaiah on the 12th of October. In all, the Lord added four souls to the Church in Dusseldorf and two souls to the Church in Lago Patria, Naples.
VISITATION:
Brother Douglas was admitted to the hospital at Oberhausen on the 25th of September for ten days for Diabetes treatment. I visited him on the 26th of September and the 2nd of October. I also delegated Brother Thompson and his wife (Augustina) to visit him while many other brethren also visited him at the hospital.
On the 26th of October, I visited Mr. Kojo Prince, “one of the people who visited the Church during the bring your friends day. I had the opportunity to start studying the Bible with him. On the 29th of October, I visited Brother Micheal Asante (one of the new converts) at his workplace during his lunch break period. On the 30th of October, Stella and I visited Sister Vanessa Konadu, who gave birth about three months ago, and we presented her and the baby with some gifts.
NEW MEMBERS FROM GHANA:
In September, we had a new member, Brother Vincent. He is originally from the Lord’s Church in Kumasi, Ghana; now doing his Masters at the University of Dortmund. He has started worshipping with us.
FAMILY:
Stella and I are in good health. Please continue to pray for us. Until our next Newsletter for November/December.
Stay Blessed,
Eddie, Stella and Esther Dadzie.
